What is an Utauloid?:
an Utauloid is a character made on the free program called UTAU. With this program, a person can make a computer generated singing voice, just like in the program Vocaloid, but the big differences between Utau and Vocaloid, is that Vocaloid is a pay program, and Utau is free. The other difference between the two is that in Utau, the User can create their own voice by recording they're own sounds, and putting them into the program.
Why make a website for a person who isn't real?
I 4wendy16, made this website so that other people may be able to discover my Utau, Have a place with all download links related to Utau, and to share updates and future projects that I am going to do with my Utauloid. I can also share art I've done of my Utauloid, and art other people have done of him! This makes things better for everyone, especially the people who want to know when Souma's latest Voice Bank (VB) will be released.
How can I make an Utau?
To make an Utauloid, you need to download the program Utau. Keep in mind that Utau is a Japanese program for Windows only, so don't be scared when the installer comes up in Japanese. It's pretty easy to install, the set up is just like any other windows installer just in Japanese.

If you do not speak or read Japanese, there is an English Patch that will translate MOST of the Utau Program.

The patch will be in a Zip. file, so you will need a program like winrar or 7 Zip to open them. go to Disk C in your computer, program files, and then to Utau. Extract the files into a file called 'res' in the Utau folder. If there is no res folder in the Utau file then create one and put the english patch files there.
One more IMPORTANT thing, if you want the Japanese in UTAU to show up properly you NEED to change the language on your computer for your non-unicode programs. This will NOT turn your whole computer Japanese, it will just make it so that non-unicode programs will be. Otherwise, you will get Corrupted files in Utau, and it WILL NOT read things properly. You can do this by going to your computers control panel and editing the regional and language options. Look for something that says 'Language for non-unicode programs' and change it to Japanese.

    こんにちわ！Hello everyone! Thought I'd be a bit more interesting and add some Japanese to my post today (even if it's just Konnichiwa) ANYWAYS, I thought I would update my blog informing people I raise Souma's age up to 16. There is a reason for that, mostly just because his WIP VCV bank is sounding much older than his original CV bank. However, Souma's birthday is also around the corner! It's on the 17th of February and I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet to celebrate (if I have time to do anything at all). I would like to be able to post a preview of his working VCV bank, but if I want to do that I really need to buckle down and record some sounds. Well that was about all I wanted to say... keep your eyes open for new updates on Souma! じゃまた！

Utauloid or more known as UTAU is a is a Japanese singingsynthesizer application created by Ameya/Ayame. This program issimilar to the Vocaloid software, with the difference that it isfreeware instead of being released under third party licensing. Youcan download UTAU application from it's main website.

It was created by re-editing an existing singing voice,extracting tones as WAV files and reassembling them. UTAU has theability to create a unique voice, so that one can be synthesized byintroducing song lyrics and melody.

As a default, UTAU features the computer synthesized voice UtaneUta (commonly known as Defoko), pre-loaded. Voices synthesized inthe UTAU program are officially called 'UTAU' as well but oftencolloquially known as 'UTAUloids'

You install a Vocaloid like any other piece of software. Price varies depending on the Vocaloid but can be as much as $200. You have to pay for Vocaloid, unless you illegally download it. However there is a program called UTAU that is similar to vocaloid and lets you create your own UTAUloid rather then just the one voice

Yes, it is illegal, but you can get a program to make your own UTAUloid. You record your voice in Audacity (taping all the japanese pronounciations) although you can use english too, but i dont think it would work as well. Then you use the program. The syllables of the voice bank that make up a song. Like konnichiwa (hello) would be a syllable for each break. KO-N-NI-CHI-WA you must pronounce each word/syllable in the Japanese language or the vocal/utauloid will lose success in quality, grammar even popularity because by accident you may say elephant coo instead of i love you.
